![]() My need for souls decreases but my need for gold rarely does. The other thing I think a lot of folks forgot is you can get souls from salvaging gear now as well.Īs for the gold rewards, I'm the opposite. ![]() all my gear, I now have over 150 of them forgotten souls and very little to do with them until I get an alt leveled up or I find another build I want to transition to outside of the occasionally rare upgrade. By Thursday we had good gear sets going so my need for souls decreased however, I still had to specifically farm helltide to manage rerolls. ![]() My progression this season went sort of like Tuesday and Wednesday I was starved for souls as I was trying to transition from early game to mid-game (My friend and I upgraded our rares in WT2 before doing the capston and then didn't bother with Sacred gear wearing what we had until 60 when we had already farmed a set of ancestral gear that we had upgraded to 3/5 or 4/5 depending on the item slot. Once you build and upgrade your first set of decent gear for your build and you spend more time between item replacements, you have far less need for the souls. I think part of the issue is that there is a "drought" in the gearing process as you transition to end game gear where you are starved for souls. Needs to be one of the first things they change. I know so many players who are just twiddling their thumbs going ‘well, lots of stuff to reroll, but helltide tho :/‘. It’s just a straight up reverse this nerf. This is in the ‘leave dungeon takes 5 seconds’ category. So nobody thought they would do this and nobody likes it. They explicitly told us they were abandoning the mindset of having to attach a negative to every positive. They said it would be less gold, they did not say ‘but it will require forgotten souls to balance it out’. I am already annoyed at how much gear I have that I can’t reroll. If those rates are out of alignment it is a pain point for the player that will make them stop playing. Otherwise the whole excitement of the drop turns into bitterness over the wasted resources. They have to tune the rate of acquisition of reagents to the rate of acquisition of gear so that gear can be rerolled as it is dropped. Helltide takes too much time and effort and focus and as this post demonstrates does not reward enough souls even when done optimally. That’s why rerolling is there, so you don’t spend days getting 2/4 drops or 3/4 drops you can’t afford to roll up and so you quit the season. Rerolling is a basic part of putting your character together, when building along particular affix lines is important for synergies etc. They showered us with potential gear and gold, and made it very difficult to perfect the items. From character builds and skills to lore and theories, we have it all covered. Welcome to the un official Diablo 4 subreddit!
